2009 Falken Tire Models

I finally have time to post this up…almost one year later! haha  These are the 2009 Falken Tire models I shot last January, I think, I forget.  So this first one is one of the shots from the photo shoot and the second photo is the actual photo is the actual poster Falken printed for shows.  The models are CJ Gibson, Lindsey Hanson, Eri Moriyama, Candace Pittman, Randyl Dawn, and Mary Castillo.

There have been some changes for 2010 and new photos but I can’t post the names or the images up yet.  Check back in about a month, I should have the new 2010 Falken model photos up by then.

Hmmm…I guess you have to click on the image to see the full version, the photo comes out blurry on the post.  Strange.

Corkscrew

i went up to the famous laguna seca raceway last year to cover the american le mans race for falken tire.  this particular photo stood out to me…this is right before the notorious corkscrew.

Magazine Print Ads

Wow…it’s been forever since my last post!!  I’ve been super busy and haven’t had a chance to post anything until now…but even now, I can only post a few things.  Some of you may know, although I do freelance work on the side, I do have a full time job with Falken Tire as their full time photographer.  A good portion of my job is to shoot various cars (street or track, hence all the car photos from my previous blogs) for ads, web, collateral, etc.  Below are some samples of our 2009 magazine print ads.  All the ads are submitted into various car magazines like Super Street, Motor Trend, Car & Driver, and Racer Magazine.  So here’s a snap shot of how some of my photos are used.

out in buttonwillow, ca

the other day, i was out in buttonwillow, ca for work to photograph our new alms porsche as well as 5zigen’s time attack acura tsx (honda euro r for you jdm nuts) for some upcoming ads and collateral.  tsuyoshi-san of 5zigen gracially drove up from gardena, ca to buttonwillow for literally a 2.5 hour photo shoot (he probably spent more time driving than the actual shoot time) so many thanks to him for doing that for us.

below are a couple of behind the scene shots of me taking pictures of the 5zigen car taken by tsuyoshi-san.  i just wanted to share these images with everyone cause it’s actual PROOF that i actually work!! hahaha

new rig shots

a couple of months ago at work, i had suggested that we use some rig shots for upcoming ads since we’ve been using a lot of static stuff.  so i was told to get whatever i needed to make these rig shots work.  so i called up jason siu and asked for his help…he directed me to a company (automotiverigs.com) to purchase the necessary rigging materials.  after some practice with jason’s 335, i was comfortable enough to go out and shoot on my own.  although i still think i need some practice, here are some the better photos that came out that we are currently using in our print ads.

ALMS 2008 – Falken / BSR Ford GT

with the 2008 american le mans season long gone, falken is preparring for the upcoming 2009 season.  as our team prepares for an exciting new season with our brand new porsche rsr gt2 class race car, i took the time to remember last year’s season with some photos from various alms events.

in 2008, falken teamed up with black swan racing and their ford gt gt2 class race car.  although we were only the tire sponsor, there was an agreement that the car would be in full falken tire motorsports livery with the traditional teal and blue scallop theme.  the car stood out from the rest of the cars in the field and attracted a lot of new attention.  for one, no one really knew who falken was and second, the ford gt was new to the american le mans series with only one other ford racing in the series.  below are some images of the car…it was a pretty bad ass car.

below is a shot i took in las vegas of our new porsche rsr car.  although this is not the same car we’ll be using for the 2009 season, it’s practically the same car so i thought i’d give you guys a sneak preview of what it looks like, if you haven’t seen it already.  i’ll have some new photos of the new car posted soon.
